PCOS Surgery

Surgery for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
Surgical options for polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) include ovarian drilling. Ovarian drilling is often preformed laparoscopicaly. A small needle punctures the ovaries with an assistance of an electric current. This procedure restores ovulation in approximately 60-70% of women. However, it is associated with increased risk of scarring (80%), which may in turn decrease the pregnancy rate.
Hysteroscopy
on Site

The hysteroscope is a small fiber-optic device that allows visualization inside the uterus. The uterus is filled with saline causing it to expand and making uterine fibroids and polyps visible. Often, these obstructions can be removed using the hysteroscope. This test is conducted in our office while an anesthesiologist provides intravenous sedation so that the patient will typically neither feel nor remember any part of the procedure.
